Partnachklamm
A wildly romantic mountain gorge, around 3 km south-east of the Olympic ski stadium. From the end of the gorge, it takes about 40 minutes to reach the Partnachalm with its magnificent view it makes for a refreshing stop along the way.
The Höllentalklamm can be reached via Grainau and Hammersbach. From the Höllentalangerhütte (1387 m a.s.l.) past a thundering waterfall, you enter the breathtaking Höllentalklamm gorge with several tunnels, galleries and bridges.

Zugspitze
The Zugspitze is Germany’s highest mountain (2964 m above sea level) Three railways lead up to the Zugspitze:
- the rack railway from Garmisch- Partenkirchen
- the gondola lift from Eibsee
- the Tyrolean Zugspitze Railway from Ehrwald
A beautiful view of Garmisch-Partenkirchen is guaranteed from the Kreuzeck. Many hikes can be started from there. It is easily accessible with the Kreuzeckbahn.

Kramerplateauweg
The Kramerplateauweg is a 7 km long high-altitude hiking trail and offers a magnificent view over mountains and valleys.
Lake Eibsee lies at an altitude of around 1,000 metres and is a natural idyll that magically attracts visitors. With its crystal-clear water, the lake lies directly in front of the Zugspitze massif. You can walk around the Eibsee on wide hiking trails or take a short boat trip.

is also called the “Zugspitzdorf” because it is situated at the foot of the Zugspitze and directly on the Zugspitzbahn. It is a popular and cosy holiday resort village with a wide range of leisure and sports facilities. In the immediate vicinity are the Badersee and the mountain-lined Eibsee at almost 1000 metres with crystal-clear, deep-blue water. The Eibsee invites you to take a hike or a boat trip. In summer it is a beautiful bathing lake.

Mittenwald
Mittenwald is known above all for its violin making, its good air (highest climatic health resort in the Bavarian Alps) and its picture-book appearance. Small alleys, farmer’s gardens, gables and Lüftl paintings, a picturesque village church – strolling through the village centre with pedestrian zone is a pleasure.

The picturesque village of Ettal lies 200 m above the Loisach valley. Its landmark is the important Benedictine monastery of Ettal with its striking round dome. Today, the abbey’s main task is to run a prestigious grammar school with boarding facilities. Ettal is also famous for its monastic liqueurs made from 40 herbs without artificial additives. Overlooked by mountain peaks such as the Ettaler Mandl, the Laber, the Notkarpitze and many more, there are many leisure opportunities here beyond pilgrimage and healing drink.

Neuschwanstein Castle
Neuschwanstein Castle was built between 1869 and 1886 under King Ludwig II of Bavaria in the style of a medieval castle on the site of the ruins of Vorderhohenschwangau and Hinterhohenschwangau.

From 1832 to 1836, Crown Prince Maximilian of Bavaria had the dilapidated Schwanstein Castle rebuilt in neo-Gothic style. King Ludwig II spent his youth here.
